Savage was raised as a Roman Catholic.

In the past, Randy lived in Zanesville, Ohio. Later, he relocated to Staten Island, New York, and then moved to Lexington, Kentucky.

Right after Randy graduated from high school, he signed with the St. Louis Cardinals as a catcher. He was only 18 years old when he started his major league baseball career.

During his baseball career, Randy learned to pitch with both of his arms as he had injured his right shoulder during a match, hence learning to throw with his left arm.

He started his career as a wrestler in 1973 and signed as the character of “The Spider” which he derived after the comic character of Spider-Man.

It was his trainer Terry and wrestler Ole Anderson who suggested he adopt the name of Randy Savage due to wild wrestling ways.

As an actor, Savage has appeared in several shows and films including Walker, Texas Ranger, and Mad About You.

In the past, he lent his vocals to the character of Rasslor in the animated series of Dexter’s Laboratory.

Randy was once featured for his ability to do 1970 sit-ups in a stretch on the popular show Ripley’s Believe It or Not!.

In the year 2002, Randy was featured as the character of Bonesaw McGraw in Spider-Man.

On October 7, 2003, Randy released his debut rap album titled Be a Man. A few of the most popular songs from it were I’m Back, RU Ready, Macho Thang, and My Perfect Friend.

Randy passed away on May 20, 2011, due to a sudden heart attack while he was behind the wheel of his Jeep Wrangler with his wife in Seminole, Florida. Amidst the heart attack, he crashed his car into a tree.
